Dense-flowered Orchid (Neotinea)

Overview

The Dense-flowered Orchid is a forest orchid of the Mediterranean area. The plant grows mainly in slight moist coniferous forests. Less frequently it is found in Garrigues or on rock faces. Typical, but not obligatory, are the spotted leaves. The flowers are minute and variable. From pure white individuals can be found all interstages to heavy red coloured individuals.
