In Europe is only <i>Neottia nidus-avis<\/i> native, an interesting appearance. The species is without any chlorophyll. Therefore, this is a mycoheterotrophic plant. The plant gives all in all a rubber-like impression. The plant is very leathery, the leaves are degenerated to scale leaves, the flowers are brown like the rest of the plant.
