Die Art w\u00e4chst sowohl auf basischen als auch auf sauren B\u00f6den im schattigen Wald. In den Mittelgebirgen sind dies meist Buchenw\u00e4lder, in h\u00f6heren Lagen hingegen Nadelw\u00e4lder. Die Pflanze ist zierlich und eher unscheinbar. Sie bringt ebenso unscheinbare, sehr kleine Bl\u00fcten hervor.
